Bordered by Namibia to the south, Zambia to the east, the Democratic Republic of the Congo to the north-east, and the South Atlantic Ocean to the west, Angola is about five times the area of the United Kingdom, with an estimated population of 19 million.

Ruled over by Portugal for 400 years, Angola exhibits a diverse mix of cultures and ethnicities. Following 25 years of civil war, Angola’s economy is now one of the fastest growing in the world, principally based on petroleum production.

Even though it has incredible natural beauty, Angola's tourism industry has barely resurfaced, although prior to the civil war its many national parks were rich in big game, now largely poached out or destroyed. You should seek expert travel advice before making a visit here.
