It has now become the tradition for AfricaAway visits to South Luangwa to begin and end at the legendary Moon Dog Cafe, situated just outside the entrance to Mfuwe Airport.
Serving bar snacks and drinks, this is the ideal place to celebrate your arrival by tasting your first Mosi Lager Beer of the trip, while at the same time browsing their selection of books and maps. It is also able to contact the local safari camps and lodges via its radio system.
Next door to the café you will find a small gift/curio shop where you can pick up any presents or souvenirs that you might wish to purchase, although these might best be bought at the end of your visit, to save carrying them around with you.
