Kafunta River Lodge is set in a riverside forest on the banks of the Luangwa River, overlooking the South Luangwa National Park.
The lodge's accommodation comprises of 8 private chalets which are built on raised wooden platforms under a thatched roof, the mahogany floors and walls providing a natural beauty to the chalet's interior.
Kafunta River Lodge has a swimming pool and the only Natural Hot Spring Tub in the Luangwa Valley. The unique hot spring tub owes its existence to the fact that Kafunta was built on top of a natural hot spring offering a constant temperature of 38 degrees centigrade, which coincidentally offers stunning views over the flood plains and the Luangwa River.
Access to the National Park is via Kafunta’s own pontoon. This results in game drives taking place in quieter areas of the park, encountering fewer game vehicles.
