Botswana Tourist Information Resource

A selection of useful websites relating to Botswana.

Botswana is probably best known for its tranquil Okavango Delta, an inland flood plain that fans out in the north western corner of the country, and which is home to an abundance of wildlife including crocodile, hippo, waterbuck etc. Here the delta waters meet the sands of the Kalahari Desert making the whole area very beautiful and scenic which is why it is referred to as the 'Jewel of the Kalahari'. Particularly worth a visit is the Moremi Game reserve, located in the north eastern sector of the Okavango.

However the Botswana government operates a policy of low-volume, high-income tourism in this area, making it a pricey holiday destination. It is both expensive and complicated to travel independently in Botswana (huge distances are involved and the road network is poor) and almost impossible in the delta itself, and hence it is recommended that an organised tour package is taken.

There is more to Botswana than the Okavango Delta, however. To the northeast lies Chobe National Park, home to some 100,000 elephants, and the famous Savute Elephant camp, while to the southeast are the spectacular Makgadikgadi and Nxai pans.

It is only a short hop from Chobe to Victoria Falls (best visited from the Zambian side), and many people choose to experience a two centre holiday, combining the richness of the Okavango with the more traditional African bush experience provided by Zambia, linking these via a trip to the Falls themselves.

Botswana is not a country in which we ourselves currently directly offer a travel or tourism product of our own, although we are able to act as booking agents on your behalf if you find a trip that you would like to take, and wish to take advantage of the financial bonding and other travel services that we provide.
